Truth in Adver-sizing
Several years back I purchased a brand new high end road bike.  A top notch titanium race frame, carbon fiber fork, high end components, and very nice wheels.  All told the purchase set me back a small fortune.  It steered quickly and handled nicely on the 15 minute test ride, and although my hands hurt a bit, the retailer assured me that as soon as my body adjusted to the new bike all of my problems would be solved.  I firmly believed I had just bought the ultimate bike.

Nearly nine months later I was still torturing myself on short 10 mile rides and trying to force my body to fit the bike.  The fact is, it never worked.  The frame was too small, the tires too narrow, and the riding position was just plain wrong for my preferences and body dimensions .

Then I began to encounter other people who have had the same maddening experience.  And that was when I began designing bicycle frames.  The name Velvet comes from the design philosophy that a bike should be smooth handling and comfortable to ride in addition to being light and efficient.  The bike should be made to fit the body of the rider, not the other way around.

The ride should be, in short, Velvety.
